La Roche-Bernard

With its unique, sweeping view of the Vilaine River, its tiny picturesque streets, and its old port, La Roche-Bernard offers visitors a timeless and poetic moment of contemplation.

In the town centre’s steep streets, some ten craftsmen and women open the doors to their workshops, where you can discover the breadth of their savoir-faire. From pottery to ceramics and stained glass to glassmaking, all these artists are well-established in the community.

La Roche-Bernard’s port is cradled by the Vilaine River and protected from the tides by the Barrage d’Arzal dam just a few kilometres away. At the end of the quay, you’ll be treated with a breathtaking view of Pont du Morbihan bridge. A pedestrian footbridge allows you to walk across it and take in even more of the lush, rolling countryside along the banks of the Vilaine.
